CVS Caremark – Sr. Linux Engineer, 09/2008-04/2014 

  • Developed complete AJAX/PHP based CMS for Tier 1 and 2 support groups to handle complex sysadmin tasks.
  • Created an automated RPM package building platform for custom software deployment.
  • Worked with a team on a successful nationwide migration of approximately 7500 servers from SCO UNIX to SuSE Linux Enterprise Server on IBM hardware, followed by major OS releases.
  • Heavily utilized BASH, Javascript, PHP, and MySQL to develop centralized utilities and applications for the automation of administrative tasks such as remote messaging, drive encryption, printer configuration, software distribution, and terminal emulation while adhering to corporate standards and governmental regulations.

  1. Luke,
    We are looking for a Zabbix SME to work with us to create an Agentless Discovery solution to complement our Asset Management system. It looks like you have experience in working with Zabbix on the monitoring part but not sure of your experience with the Low level discovery aspects of Zabbix. We have experience in managing customers environments with over 70K servers and it needs someone with your Admin skills to create a solution. The scope of the project is as follows:

    – work with us to install/configure zabbix in our dev environment
    – work with our developers to create/use scripts/apis to create the necessary output (typically files in a csv format) per our specs
    – document the deployment process
    – address scalability and security
